About POSIX ar for PowerPC:
Create and modify PowerPC library files (Metrowerks flavour). This is a complete replacement for the mostly-useless /bin/ ar on PowerPC; it's an ar implemented according to the POSIX 1003.2-1992 spec. This is especially useful if you're porting software. Use this for all of your library file creation and modification needs.
