About OTupdate:
A script to download the latest OpenTracker and OpenDeskbar sources, compile them, and install the resulting binaries.
OTupdate
This is a script I wrote to download the latest OpenTracker and OpenDeskbar sources from the opentracker.sourceforge.net CVS tree, build them, and install them (it even restarts the Tracker and the Deskbar for you!).
For this script to work, you much have a CVS client (with a filename of "cvs" (no quotes)) in your path. I have found that the one at:

works on x86 systems. The source is included, so it will probably compile on the PPC platform, but I haven't tried it. (This script should work on the PPC platform, though, if you can get a working CVS client.) The script assumes that the OpenTracker and OpenDeskbar files will reside in /boot/home/OpenTracker, however this is changable by editing the OTDIR variable in the script. You must also have the bin utils for your processor type (x86 or PPC) from the OpenTracker site. These can be downloaded at:
http://opentracker.sourceforge.net/downloads.html
These must be extracted to /boot/home/OpenTracker or wherever you set the script to look for the OpenTracker and OpenDeskbar files.
To run this script, just click on it in the Be menu or go to a Terminal and type:
OTupdate
or double-click on the script in /boot/home/config/bin
