About Emuxki driver for SB Live! Audigy and Audigy2:
Emuxki is a multiaudio driver for the SoundBlaster Live!, Audigy and Audigy2 series.
It supports cards based on the Emu10K1 and Emu10K2 audio chipsets.
It is based on the original NetBSD version written by Yannick Montulet.
Features :
- Playing and recording, dual 48khz/16bits voice each
- Full DSP and AC97 mixers, including recording selection
- Install/Uninstall (moves original emu10k driver)
- Streams internally
Audigy 2 doesn't have the AC97 mixer, because it is not used for output at all.
Tested with a Soundblaster Live! 1024 and an Audigy 2. Playing with Soundplay/CLAmp, Recording with SoundRecorder/SoundPlay Input plugin, Cortex.
Also tested with an Audigy.
The LATEST Multiaudio MediaAddon is REQUIRED for better experience (see related links below). Please report your experience (success and fail) with your card model.
Particularly digital output should work on all cards.
Note on the audio quality : It seems the audio mixer included in BeOSR5 is not good at samplerate conversion 44khz -> 48 khz. In Dano there are several conversion methods which fix this problem.
