About BBitmapTranslator:
Allows saving of bitmap files in the native B_TRANSLATOR_BITMAP
Why another format?
BeOS's image translation capabilities are great and a number of translators are supplied by Be Inc. and third party vendors. However, all translators are fed a B_TRANSLATOR_BITMAP (essentially a BBitmap) and do their best to convert it when saving a file and vice-versa when loading.
Not all translators and file formats can perform the conversion and keep all the info intact.
This is especiallly true of transparency data (the alpha channel).
BBitmapTranslator will save and load (perfectly) any translator data.
