I'm working on ACPI support for Haiku. The bus manager code is functioning perfectly (under R5 and Zeta), but I didn't write drivers for batteries and other power management things yet (ACPI does much more than this), although these interfaces should be easy to add. I'm not going to have an ACPI-capable machine again until the end of the summer, so if you would like to work on this, please e-mail me.

I have Zeta and PhOs installed. The apm driver (old and new) Slows Zeta's boot to s screaching halt. PhOs boots at the same speed it always did. I thought maybe this version would fix that. I even did a fresh reinstall of Zeta... no luck. No biggie thought I would share.

you don't need the apm driver to use HLT.
Just enable it back by uncommenting the "hlt enabled" line in:
/boot/home/config/setting/kernel/drivers/kernel
It was disabled in Zeta because some CPU crash when it is used, so yT had to maximize the bootability.

I didn't changed anything of the driver. So if it's doesn't supported in the 1.00a version it's not supported now.

Thanks! This was needed! I'll try ASAP. By the way does this adds support for the HALT instruction? Seems disabled in Zeta, even if I enable it on the kernel config file.
